I saw the article about gen Y not wanting to learn to Drive. My son turned 16 yesterday and flew solo in a helicopter. He wants to go straight into the Army as part of the High School to Flight School Program.

An interesting thing is the liberal media has written about him this past weekend. He was featured on the today.com website and was on the main page of msn.com over the weekend. And told those reporters that he liked shooting guns with his dad. They didn't mention that in the article though.

He is also a really good shot. At a Recent Twigs Traditional Marksman class, he got 26 out of 30 on target at 200 meters.

He has his own website at www.copterboy.com

I had to share as a very proud dad.

Sounds like a great kid. Has he ever thought about shooting Highpower? It would be really good experience for him if he joins the Army, and it's a lot of fun too.

Very cool! Always wanted to learn to fly. Wish I did it when I was younger!

    Congrats, Mark!

I've gotta ask... were you and your son at the Air Show on Saturday? My son and I were in line to look at the military helicopter and there was some discussion behind us of a young man who was turning 16 and flying helicopters. Just wondering if that was you?

Would he ever think about not joining the army and starting up a local heli charter company? Simply an amazing kid
