Restaurant suggestions North Conway, NH area
I am taking the family on a vacation to North Conway, NH in July. We are going to Storyland and other kids attractions. I have stayed up there dozens of times, I am looking for suggestions on good restaurants to take the family to. The key factors: not super expensive, kid friendly, local places that maybe all the tourists (like me) dont go to. The tourist places are fine but I think I have been to most of them. I am staying in the North Conway Bartlett area. There are six of us, two adults and four kids. Thanks.

I'm not an expert on the area but I don't think such a place exists. There isn't the population density for a food joint to survive without feeding tourists. Maybe up the river past Walmart, town up that way is pretty dumpy, without the ethnic diversity that brings good food.

What he said...
If you just go a little early or a little late to avoid peak meal-times you should be ok even in the heaviest of seasons.
3 of our usuals:
Muddy Moose (burgers, wraps, etc...)
Red Parka - more of a dinner place - definitely crowds up at peak meal-times.
Brandli's pizza (Elvio's is supposedly good, but that's one place we've never been able to beat the crowds)
Most things in that area are kid-friendly. Parka has a bar, but it is separate from the restaurant.
There is a place out on 301, IIRC that advertizes cider that is more "upscale," (dare I say "fancy.") but it only gets so upscale up there (and that's a good thing). We've never bothered with the hotel restaurants that require reservations. Sort of defeats the purpose of going to North Conway.
Of course there are the chain joints - Pizza Hut, BK, etc... further south on the main drag through town.
Can't speak to the Chinese/Thai - 1. I lost track of which was which and some changed owners. 2. I keep it simple while up there, burgers, steak, pizza, done...

Peaches for breakfast is great. The MOAT is good. The Muddy Moose was good too.

If related to the Elvio's in Lincoln NH, I would stay away. That place had the worst pizza I have ever experienced. I ordered their specialty pizza of peppers and onions and it was liked someone dumped a pot of steamed and soggy crap on top of a perfectly good pizza. The only thing good about it was the crust.
