Burning the wick at both ends would be putting it mildly.

Total ignoramus self-destruction. Hardly a reflection on the 173rd Airborne Brigade. Hopefully he'll get to split some rocks in Leavenworth.

"Why is patriotism thought to be blind loyalty to the government and the politicians who run it, rather than loyalty to the principles of liberty and support for the people? Real patriotism is a willingness to challenge the government when it’s wrong." - Ron Paul 2012

So now he's off to Leavenworth. And when he gets out, his pension will be gone. The things some guys will do for a woman.

I agree, I had the "pleasure" of having LTC Allen West as my BN CDR when he was forced into retirement in Tikrit in 2003. I'm also authorized the 173rd BDE combat patch, but what really gets me about this story is that ALL the other indicators didn't bring up any flags for the military, nothing about the missing money, anything except the wife speaking up. Something like this should not be able to happen.

You, sir, are making the classic mistake of trusting the upper army to know it's ass from it's elbow. I give anything above Company level a 1 in 6 chance of doing anything right.
"I have neither the time, nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said thank you, and went on your way; otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon and stand a post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to." ~ A Few Good Men
