Some M1 Carbine production dates + cartouche markings
I have info in a book that is copyrighted and currently in print so I can't put it here, but I found this on another site. Hope it helps some of you with questions...note that it's not a complete listing....

According to this chart, my Inland was manufactured in Sept/Oct 1943
(ser # 2,978,XXX).

Same with mine. It had been converted to M2 somewhen, and converted back again.

Hmm... My Underwood came with a Saginaw stock, and my good old Saginaw came with a Underwood stock.
