Default Colt New Line Pocket Revolver

I picked this up recently for $50. It is a Colt New Line pocket revolver in 32 Rimfire. The nickel is flaking, the cylinder does not register and the hammer pin was filed down to make it non firing. It is a first generation made towards the end of the first year of production. Thanks for looking.

PS I got lucky today and found a single 32 Rimfire cartridge in an antique store today.

Cool! I think I have two of those same rounds in my random ammo tin if you want them. Do you ever come to SE MA NES shoots?

Not to be a party pooper, but what fun can you have with the ammo if you're missing a firing pin? I suppose it adds to the overall collector's appeal?

Thanks for the offer 45Collector, I have wanted to make the trip down for one of the NES shoots but it is a long drive and I most likely never will.

The gun is in non-firing condition so you are right. I do like to have at least one cartridge for each caliber gun I have in my collection. I keep this cartridge collection on a specially made platform on my wall. Hence the desire to find at least one of these obsolete rounds. Having one or two more would be nice in case I ever loose the first one.

Nice score, I have a good number of pistols and rifles that the ammo is absolute. Its the history of it all.Thats what makes it worth it to me.

These were produced from 1873-1877. About 22,000 were made. This one is serial #2066 and the last one made in 1873 was serial #2099. So, this was made near the end of 1873. In Excellent condition it would be worth $2k, in the state it is in it might get $200.

I agree with you 100% Ray, it is the history that makes it interesting.
