Introduction

Welcome to the McDermott & Company, Inc. sub-forum. I'm Robert J. McDermott, an NRA Instructor certified in 9 disciplines, NRA Chief Range Safety Officer, NRA Training Counselor, MA Certified BFS Course Instructor and Utah BCI Certified Instructor. You may have seen me post on the NES forum ocassionally as a green member.

After a 5 month review process, the Commonwealth of MA has certified my MA Pistol License Course and assigned it LTC-020. I wrote this course to be handgun specific, and as an alternative to LTC-007 Home Firearm Safety for MA LTC applicants. The course length is approximately 5 hours, and the optional live fire segment adds up to 2 hours. I have licensed the course curriculum to Jeff Kaplan at RKBA Personal Safety Training in Mansfield, Tom Cheffro at Boston Firearm Training Center in Revere, and Steve Hathaway at Mass Firearms School in Framingham for their use in eastern MA. I'm currently working on an addendum for the course that should meet CT requirements.

I have partnered with CT resident John S. Oswecki who is also an NRA Certified Instructor, NRA Chief Range Safety Officer, NRA Training Counselor, MA Certified Instructor and Utah BCI Certified Instructor. Together we teach several hundred students per year.

John and I offer courses on a regular basis near Bradley Airport in CT and in western MA (see my website for details), including:
