Most Restrictive MA LCF towns - for real?
Packing.org lists a number of cities and towns where All Lawful Purposes LCF are considered "impossible" or "almost impossible" to obtain.
Boston, for example, is difficult but small business owners and some are granted them - it's not "impossible". Are there any towns that flat won't issue them?
The towns I've heard to be very difficult are Cambridge and Watertown. Do you have first hand knowledge of these cities and towns?
Packing lists Boston, Brookline, Brockton, Canton, Chicopee, Falmouth, Hatfield, Hudson, Newton, Pembroke, Springfield, Watertown, and Worcester.

I lived in Medford, and I was told when applying for my licence that they would only give me a Conceal Carry Permit if it was for work only, and they won't offer a ALP LTC. Having NO licence and a gun that was missing me up in Maine, I chose the easy route and got my LTC: Target and Hunting Only 30 days later. But now that I moved to Belmont I'm going over to the police station this week and see how much of a pain they're going to make it for me to get an ALP.
Worse yet this was in March, and Medford gave me the oldshcool HUGE LTC permit....so I kinda want my wallet to FOLD.
I'll post on what the Police tell me.

I've been curious about Hudson
It seems strange they would be in that category as there is a gun store there and one of the largest gun clubs. I wonder if packing.org's information is anecdotal

Forgot Quincy. Cheif Crowley doesn't like ALP. He's been down-grading people that have had licenses for years from ALP to restricted. I know a guy that DRIVES AN AMORED CAR for a living and was denied for no known reason. He's in line for litigation, but the line is 3 digits deep, he says.

As of 2 weeks ago, reports from Quincy were that Crowley is bowing to all the pressure put on by GOAL (you know, the org that many claims does nothing for gun owners) and Don Kusser (GOAL-BOD) in particular. According to Don, those that go up for renewals are getting LTC-A/ALP now, some are applying for upgrades to LTC-A/ALP currently. Newbies are still being screwed by the chief with lesser, restricted permits. Therefore, GOAL is still keeping the pressure on the chief thru the mayor and the city council.

Jeez! You guys are observant!
OK. I'm in with GOAL for a year. Smart of them, allowing for online registration. I thought I would try to do it through my club (I remember hearing about some sort of benefit to them if I signed up through them), but, whatever. The guy I talked to at the club didn't know. Better to do it now. The Best is the enemy of the Good.
