    The key point when applying for renewal is to mail the application very early and then to have dated documentation. Then the permit is carried over past the expiration date until approved or denied.

    Of course, how the state can just ignore the 30 day approval requirement is another topic.

    Of course, how the state can just ignore the 30 day approval requirement is another topic.
    For non residents, Maine can ignore a 60 day limit instead of the 30 day resident limit.
