Default Lone Star Custom Rolling Block

This just came today after months of waiting. A custom made Lone Star Rolling Block made by Dave Higginbotham of Lone Star Rifle Company of Conroe, Texas. It is chambered for the 50/90 Sharps round. It has a 30" Green Mountain 1 1/4" heavy octagon barrel. Standard trigger with a crisp 3 lb pull. Weighs about 13 lbs. I know that this should be posted under new acquisitions, but it is just too special too me. Can't wait to hit the range.

Color case hardened frame and nitrite blued barrel

    100 % figured wood

Late model Remington Combination rear sight

Often referred to as "rough and ready" sight

Beach or Beech front sight/ gold post or post in circle

    Fore end

    Overall view

    Different angle

    Butt plate

50/90 round with 700 gr. bullet designed by Dave Higginbotham in conjunction with NEI molds backed by 100 grs of Swiss 1.5. I have a mold on order.

Is the stock a birdseye or tiger maple? Whatever it is, it has beautiful figure.

Just beautiful. I love the old single shots! And that 50/90 cartridge looks like a freight train waiting to pull out of the station.

Definitely looks to me like more of a tiger or flamed maple (speaking mostly from guitar-based experience). Either way, wow.
