In 1945, my Dad was shot under the left ear, the round went on an angle forward, thru his jaw, mouth, and took a bunch of his teeth, jaw, tongue and the right side of his face off, leaving his eye to hang by whatever the back of the eye is hooked to. He remembers laying on the ground, covered in blood, with the Germans picking thru his pockets. He said he could have still taken action but he was the only one there except for the many Germans that had overrun his squad, so he played dead until they left. He walked to an aid station and spent a year in hospitals getting his face rebuilt.

    He'll be 88 this summer.

Even for the Germans in wartime, sometimes one hit is not enough....luckily for him...and me.

    US Army Security Agency 1967-1971

Show me ANY law that would have stopped any of the school shootings.

Freedom has ceased to be a birthright; it has come to mean whatever we are still permitted to do.

Compromise means never having the best solution.

My Grandfather was in the front lines at Normandy on D-Day, he got hit in the stomach by a Nazi with a machine gun, they threw him in the dead pile. One of his friends was walking by and heard him moaning. They dragged him out and he made it. He looked like he had 8 bellybuttons. Amazing when you hear these stories.

That was a good read but it sucks that it'll mostly only be read by folks who already know what reality is.
