What constitutes "less offensive"? Are you / they stating the penalty for possessing a 30 round magazine is more severe than the penalties for the other offenses listed?

I've shared this list with Senator Kissel so he can understand just how ignorant the NY legislators were in pushing so hard to pass poor legislation. Hopefully it will make an impact on him and those he shares this with.

    Thanks for posting this!

If the severity of punishment is relative to the egregiousness of the offense, then one would conclude that these lawmakers would rather see children raped on video than anyone own a 30 round magazine. That this is offensive to me does not do justice, I cannot find the words to describe this. We really need to start hanging them from trees in very visible locations. I would consider that relative to the egregiousness of their offense.

The real point of excessive classification and sentencing is to assure that persons charged with such a crime don't do anything silly like take their case to trial. Raise the stakes high enough an even someone with an airtight alibi will cop a plea.

See - I think part of the problem here is that people just don't have it in their heads how to eff with the police and the legislators.

Since possessing a high capacity magazine is a worse offense than all those on the list - what people ought to do - is to Alinsky the damn system.

Find somebody who can make "fake" high capacity magazines - maybe MagPul can make some that look exactly like a high capacity mag - but they're solid inside - so basically what you have is a piece of plastic that LOOKS just like a mag - but isn't.

Then people start buying them - and walking around with them in their pockets - make vests with like a dozen of these mags hanging off - etc.

Monkey wrench the system dammit - THINK THINK THINK - use your goddam heads.

If the world was filled up with "fake" mags - you would force the legislators to ban pieces of plastic that LOOKED like mags - in other words - you would force them to legislate insanity.

The next step would be to start making high cap mags that look like something else - like a plastic iPHone case or something like that. So now the legislators would have to legislate against things that looked like iPhone cases.

We can totally monkey wrench this thing - we just have to use our heads.
