If they work then that is great.
At the time, all of the compact mags I ever came across were all 13rd (preban) Italian made Beretta mags. Also, at the time, I don't believe I ever saw or heard of a US made compact. if they have since started making them, it would make getting 10rd mags a lot easier (and cheaper).
I never tried using a std 92 mag, so I don't know.

I think I am going to buy it today. Is there an expectation of negotiating a price at a shop?

Can't hurt to try.
But, any sort of negotiation requires you to have some sort of leverage.
Your price is too high..
Compared to what? Who else has THIS gun, in stock, In mass for less?
Can you do better on the price?
Why? Will you not buy it otherwise? Really?
Realistically, they probably will not budge much, if at all on the price. But, depending on how nice you are, what mood the store person is in, you might get them to throw something in, holster, box of ammo, extra mag, etc, this is more realistsic.
BUT!!! If you make sure they know this is your FIRST purchase, and that since they are treating you SO WELL, you'll likely be back to BUY MORE STUFF, you may get them to throw in something.
If you were doing a Glock and many people had them, you'd be more able to beat them up on price or throwing stuff in. But as this is kind of a rare beast, for better or worse, unless they have been sitting on it a long time, they will not be that motivated.
