    Default Visiting Maine this weekend

I'm going to be in Maine this weekend. Being new to the firearm world, is there anything I can buy while I'm up there? Ammo? Is it really worth it either way?

I like going to the Kittery Trading Post. You can usually find a good deal on shotguns there.

I would assume you are heading North into Maine at which point you would pass through NH. Plan a stop along the route there... No sales tax

Yes, north from Mass. Being a Mass resident in either Maine or NH, what can I buy though? I'm mostly interested in finding a good deal on 9mm ammo.

You can buy all the ammo you want. You can buy a long gun all you have to do is file a fa10 within 7 days of bringing it back home. Handguns would need to be shipped to a local ffl.

You can even buy ammo at most convinience/general stores! Maybe not the best deals though.

Heading to Maine from Mass means you're probably heading up Rt. 95. Your best bet is to get off at Exit #1 in NH and go to WallyWorld in Seabrook for ammo (take a right off exit ramp, take a right at lights, then about 1.5 miles down on your left).

Next stop is the NH Liquor Store right off the highway. You will probably run into your local State elected Officials there. They like it when you get pictures of their license plates.

Then exit #3 after you go over the bridge leaving NH and entering Maine is where the Kittery Outlets are. If you have never been to the Kittery Trading Post it is a MUST see. Just head upstairs. Deals can be found, but know your pricing.

Maine has sales tax so it's not really all that great for stocking up on ammo. For window shopping/gun fondling I would stop in at Cabela's in Scarborough, but that's about it. I would resist the urge to buy anything you know you can get in NH.

"She got the worst of it," Calvo said. "She was literally in the kitchen, cooking a lovely pasta dish, and they brought down the door and shot our dogs." While he was being held, Calvo said, he told police he is the town's mayor, but they didn't believe him.

I have 45 acres in Maine. 3 gun stores I know of closed there. NH is the place to buy everything. NO TAX! When assachusetts took 3 months to renew my CC permit I vowed to buy all my long guns, ammo, and hunting licenses in other states. You can buy all the long guns you want, and don't have to register them if you don't bring them back here. Hell, I do most of my shooting in Maine, why bring the guns to MA? If I'm going to be treated like a second rate citizen I'll spend my money elsewhere.
