Default Criminals and the Guns They Carry

Interesting article, good to know that most criminals are in fact so dumb they weapon they carry likely isn't functional. Also raises the point that we probably over think our CCW choice.

    Out of 85 weapons seized:

    24 are not loaded
2 are not loaded with the correct ammunition
    9 are completely broken

if you ever watch those gang shows and or documentaries, you would already know this. They really have no idea what they are doing, they usually call the guns by the amount of ammo in them.

The very biggest criminals of all don't even carry any weapons, they have others that do it for them.

The problem with this article, while it matches everything I've seen/read/experienced elsewhere, is that it might give you a false sense of security.

There are also skilled bad-guys out there as well. Knowing your enemy is important, underestimating him based on that knowledge is deadly.

If you read through the entire article you'll see that the majority of the seized guns were loaded and functional 9mm or larger caliber pistols. In other words, if a criminal pulls a gun on you the odds are that it's functional, loaded, and of sufficient caliber to kill you quickly.

    And then there's this:
My police agency is relatively small and patrols a very affluent suburban community in the Midwest. The crime rate in our city is very low.
Seems unlikely that these are "hardened criminals" at all.

All in all it's a shitty article....

These Gangstas should have to go qualify at the range . At least they'd shoot who they were aiming at,instead of Innocent bystanders

And these seized guns were taken from criminals who got caught, the smart criminals who got away probably have better firepower.
