Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A Las Vegas Dairy Queen became the scene of a deadly shooting when an employee protected the store from a sword-wielding robber.

    Not bad ass enough.

A sword is a big knife...and we all know about "knives" and "gunfights".

If you pull a trigger, you have to pull together.

As long as you are further then 20 feet you may survive bringing a gun to a knife fight.

The suspect who was shot was later pronounced dead at Sunrise Hospital. He has not yet been identified.

The DQ was owned by a Lebanese man and his family. He was working there with his two sons. The linked article doesn't state who fired the shot, but it's safe to say it's not going to be like one of those Walgreens shootings, where the defender was fired for carrying his firearm against company policy. Score one for the good guys!

The DQ is owned by the family, a franchise. I'm hoping they are legal with the gun and not caught under "alien" status.

This..and corporate doesn't pull their franchise for some BS reason.
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes.... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.” (Jefferson's "Commonplace Book," 1774-1776, quoting from On Crimes and Punishment, by criminologist Cesare Beccaria, 1764)

Although I know that no one "wants" to take a life and deal with the possible psychological consequences, this is a prime example why the 2nd amendment exists. We all have the right to defend ourselves, our families, and innocent bystanders against these idiots.

Does this remind anyone of that scene from Indiana Jones?
