I put one on my brothers rifle - vents gas up instead of sideways, so it is still noisy if you're shooting under cover. It's not venting straight at anyone, at least. Not the most effective brake ever, a definite compromise between braking and noise.Kevin

My RRA Tactical brake isn't crazy loud and works well. It also doesn't look like crap.
