On July 29, the Washington DC attorney general's office secured a 90-day stay on the ruling against the city's ban on carrying handguns in public.
On July 26 Breitbart News reported that federal Judge Frederick J. Scullin, Jr., ordered the ban halted "unless and until" DC adopted "a constitutionally valid licensing mechanism." He said "the total ban on the public carrying of ready-to-use handguns outside the home" was not "constitutional under any level of scrutiny."
